WeSolar Welcomes Terrence Samuel as Illinois Director and Environmental Advocate

 [Chicago, Illinois] – WeSolar, a leading community solar company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Terrence Samuel as its new Illinois Director and Environmental Advocate. Mr. Samuel brings with him years of experience in sustainability science and community-based development, which will help WeSolar achieve its goal of expanding access to renewable energy throughout Illinois.

 As the Illinois Director, Mr. Samuel will be responsible for overseeing WeSolar’s community solar projects in the state and will work closely with the team to develop and implement strategies for growth and expansion. Mr. Samuel will also serve as WeSolar’s Environmental Advocate, promoting sustainable practices and initiatives throughout the community.

 Mr. Samuel is a 2010 graduate with honors from Wright College, where he earned a degree in sustainability science for sites and structures through the Building Energy Technologies Program. He also holds a postgraduate certificate in Public Interest Design from Archeworks, where he focused on the design and development of field-based research that engages collaborative connections within the community. Additionally, he is a STEM/Athena-Solar channel partner, providing best-in-class software, sales, and service in the Solar + Storage marketplace, and specializes in the design, development, and deployment of solar solutions and systems.

 Mr. Samuel is also a graduate of the Chicago Conservation Corps (C3), where he trained in land, air, water, and community organizing sustainability service projects, and developed a natural green cleaning solution. He is a LEED Green Associate in core concepts and strategies, LEED for Homes rating system, and holds a NEEC certified building operator certificate. Mr. Samuel is also a graduate from the Housing Development Training Institute-community development & empowerment series through the Chicago Rehab Network. Most recently, he completed a service year with Greencorps-Terrafirma, specializing in ecological restoration, green infrastructure, conservation, consulting, and construction.
